A Solid Foundation
It began over three decades ago with a decision to travel from Longs, South
Carolina to Northern Virginia and a desire to succeed. According to town
records, the Long family made such a contribution serving the town of Ebenezer,
South Carolina, that in 1895 officials renamed the town Longs. Generations of
Longs continued to serve the town through the 1950's, filling an assortment of
prominent civic positions.

A Continuing Tradition
Like the Longs in South Carolina, modest beginnings and hard work has grown
J.D. Long Masonry into a company that's completed over 300 million in masonry
work. As a result of this success, Engineering News Record has ranked us as
high as fifth largest masonry contractor in the nation. We take pride in our ability
to make a difference in the industry while providing the highest levels of quality,
craftsmanship, and integrity available.

As in all business, a solid foundation provides support for the entire
organization. Years ago in South Carolina, the Long family built a foundation
based on trust, integrity, and quality. Today, in Northern Virginia, we build on
